My armour? - Guild Wars Forums

Well i just got the major update, well around 19mb one, and i log into my char select screen, with new screenie. Well i look at my characters and they have there basic, what you start out with armour. Now, i didnt have 15k or anything, but i did have 1.5k droks/kurzick with vigor and major curses runes for my primary necro. And now I have to wait for ages for all the files to download to get into AScalon City. My question is, will i have to buy my armour all over again or is it just a bug at the char select screen?

Happened to me too - I just waited for a few seconds and my normal armour came back thank the lord! Otherwise I was waving bye bye to 4 sets of 15k stuff...

No, you don't have to buy new armour. It takes the character selection screen a little longer to refresh itself to what your characters are actually wearing.

Happens during most major updates. Latency issues make it seem like your toons are all wearing their starter armor.

Had you left the game at the log in screen, you would have downloaded over 400mb, not 19.

also, if you don't want to have to wait for ages when going into each city/map, do the following:

1) right click your GW link and select properties.
2) in the Target lin, put a space at the end and type -image, then click apply and ok

now when you open gw, it will download and decompress all the files. When it is done, it will close. So just go back in to your properties and delete the -image and start the game like normal. Now you dont have to wait for all this stuff to download and decompress between zones.

I thought it was kinda cool to see all that noob armor again....geez, glad I changed!! I was going to screen shot the lot, but then the update got there and they were all back to normal

ah well, the good ole days werent always soo good I guess.....
